ESTP – The Man of Action

Take the test: MBTI - Big Five (OCEAN)

L'homme d'actionPortrait

Enthusiastic, ESTPs are "doers" who live in the world of action. Risk-takers, they are willing to get their hands dirty. They live in the here-and-now and place little importance on introspection or theory. They quickly decide what needs to be done, take action, and move on.

ESTPs have an uncanny ability to perceive the attitudes and motivations of others. They pick up on little clues that go unnoticed by most other types, such as facial expressions and stance. They are usually one step ahead of the person they are interacting with. They view rules and laws as guidelines but can override them if necessary. ESTPs tend to have their own beliefs about what is right and wrong.

ESTPs are fast talkers and enjoy the finer things in life. They can be gamblers or wasteful. They are usually very good at improvisation. They usually do things as they go along rather than following a plan. They are fun-loving and good company. They can sometimes be unknowingly harmful to others because they do not care about the effect their words have on others. It is not that they do not care about people, it is that their decision-making process does not involve taking people's feelings into account. They make decisions based on facts and logic.

The least developed side of ESTPs is their intuitive side. They quickly become impatient with theories and see little use in them for "getting things done." ESTPs don't trust their own instincts, and they distrust those of others as well.

ESTPs often have difficulty in school, especially higher education which becomes too theoretical for their tastes. They may be intelligent, but school will still be a difficult task for them.

ESTPs need to constantly advance in their careers. They are stifled and unhappy when faced with routine tasks. They have a natural abundance of energy and enthusiasm, which makes them natural entrepreneurs. They have the ability to motivate others. They can sell anything to anyone. They are action-oriented and make decisions quickly.

ESTPs are practical, attentive, fun-loving, risk-taking, and quick to improvise.

Career

ESTPs' observational abilities make them extremely good at analyzing and assessing the motivations of others. Their social skills allow them to use this knowledge to their advantage while interacting with people. For this reason, ESTPs make excellent salespeople. They also have the ability to react quickly and effectively to an immediate need, such as in an emergency or crisis situation. This is a valuable skill in many professions, especially action-oriented ones, such as law enforcement. ESTPs enjoy new experiences, dealing with people, and dislike being locked into structured environments. They also want to see an immediate result to their actions and dislike theories. For these reasons, they should choose careers that involve a lot of interaction with people and that avoid routine.

ESTPs are gregarious and fun-loving, making the most of every moment. They love action and seem to be always on the move. This enthusiasm carries over into their personal relationships. However, they tend to get bored easily, which can lead to frequent relationship changes. They take a day-to-day approach to life, so long-term commitments are not really their cup of tea.

Sexually, ESTPs approach intimacy as a fun way to get the most out of the relationship in the moment. They are very aware of their senses. They are likely to view intimacy from a light, physical perspective rather than as an opportunity to express affection.

ESTPs are not naturally in tune with what others are feeling and give little recognition and support to their partners. They tend to believe that actions speak louder than words and therefore do not understand the need to say things that should be obvious.

The ESTP's natural partner is theISFJ or theISTJ.

As parents

There is a little bit of child in every ESTP. They enjoy spending time "playing" with their children. ESTPs tend to take things as they come and teach their children what seems appropriate when situations arise.

ESTPs believe that many things in life do not have obvious answers. Therefore, they are likely to be more of a friend than an educator to their children. However, they will have no problem punishing when necessary.

ESTP parents usually form strong friendships with their offspring.

En tant qu'amis

ESTPs have excellent observation skills and know how to act appropriately with all types of people. Therefore, they can get along with any personality type.

They have little patience for intuitive types of thinking, which seem very abstract to them. They prefer to be with people who have similar interests to their own - such as sports.

They are usually very popular, because they are enthusiastic, friendly, talkative, and know how to have a good time. Many ESTPs keep friends for life, because even though they take life day by day, they feel loyal to their peers. They are highly valued by their friends for their loyalty.

Financial independence

ESTPs, with their active, gregarious, day-to-day nature, have no particular interest or skills in financial independence. If you're an ESTP and have read this far, that's already pretty good. 1. In the third paragraph there are two words missing anyway I suppose "They usually do things as they go rather than following a plan." That's it, it's just to help otherwise very good profile I was pleasantly surprised by this mbti method it defines people in general very well thank you.

  2. So since we're on the subject of spotting mistakes: last paragraph of "As friends": if he or instead of if he 😉

  3. I am next to a rather insightful comrade who boasts about his results when in reality he is a mechanic who tells him ??? personally I am an entrepreneur and without throwing myself it is the truth I am a real leader! rt my comment if you also have a colleague like me who is seriously lost in his life
