More than a year ago I wrote an article about the passive incomeOne conclusion was that dividends were among the only sources of income that could be earned with little or no work.
For over a month now, I have been working like crazy on my website to fix a bug that is slowing it down considerably or causing it to crash altogether at times. Devoting hours to a website every day, on top of your regular job, while trying to accommodate your children and your wife, is an exercise that is proving impossible.
In any case, we are very far from the notion of passive income that some authors suggest can be drawn from the web. Especially since while we are trying to solve technical problems, we are not devoting ourselves to the real vocation of a blog: writing.
In short, when I look back and consider the hours dedicated to my site over the last five years, I tell myself that if I was not guided by passion, I would have already packed up and left a long time ago. It is not surprising in any case that we see blogs bloom and disappear one after the other, in the space of a few months.
And all the while, the dividends continue to fall relentlessly, no matter what happens...

Good morning,
I would like to suggest that the best way to take advantage of the web is not through creating a blog and writing articles. Writing can be seen as a "job", although it is certainly more enjoyable than a life condemned to following orders and directives. What represents passive income here is - for example - the amount collected through display (ads). Writing the content is only one lever. In fact, many bloggers delegate writing to specialized "assistants" or "freelancers".
However, earning income through AdSense, DoubleClick, etc. is dependent on: both advertising agencies and even search engines (which can blacklist you, thus dramatically reducing your traffic).
Advertising is only really profitable when traffic and, for example, the “CTR” are sufficiently high.
To achieve this, writing is not enough... There is usually a whole marketing plan hidden behind it.
The key is also in the automation of tasks. Possibly the creation of products and the proposal of services. But maintenance should represent a minimal part of the efforts accomplished. […]
I wish you success in your goal.
Thanks Fred!
