I dream of traveling the world and getting to know new cultures. I dream of helping those in need or simply those who are less fortunate than me. I dream of inspiring others to achieve their respective dreams, whatever they may be. Money doesn't buy happiness. Instead of dreaming about money, think about what it can buy you: more time and therefore the freedom to do what you want. I'm not going to wait 10 years to make my dreams come true. Dreams are one thing, but to make them come true, you have to start right away. I want to enjoy life to the fullest, without having to sell off my most precious possession, just to get a salary from an employer. I dream... I dream of being as free as when I was born. I dream that the only thing I really want to own, time, belongs to me completely. And you, what do you dream of?

Hello Jerome,
Our society destroys everything that had charm, makes the world ugly and makes people dark. I may be considered cynical, but it is nevertheless a truth that is difficult to refute.
Despite this, I try to survive this dark world. And the best way I have found is spiritual food. I read, I listen to music, I take pictures… I also dedicate some of my time to the animal cause and I help my fellow human beings when the opportunity arises.
Also, I would like to put a link to the site of a struggling pianist in the USA: http://www.jessicawilliams.com/
If you and a few readers could help him, even very modestly, that would make me very happy...
Kind regards,
Thierry.
Thanks for your message Thierry. It is true that today's globalized society exacerbates the good and bad sides of human beings.
Thanks for your link too. Impressive what this lady had to go through! Here is at least one good side of globalization, helping people who need it, on the other side of the planet, thanks to the Internet…
I am often very critical of progress. In fact, for me, progress for the sake of progress makes no sense; it must be accompanied by added value for humanity.
3D TV is something absurd, especially the fact that it is imposed on us. On the other hand, the Internet brings something, the network brings people closer and breaks down barriers (for those who have an open mind)
Social media is both fascinating and demoralizing. I realize every day how much we could achieve through it and also how stupidly most people use it. It's a shame.
Coming back to this pianist, her journey is difficult. It's crazy that a talented musician is reduced to begging while others earn millions without an ounce of talent. But that's the world!
I'm thinking of helping her out by buying some CDs directly from her website. She plays really well, so it'll be a win-win.
"It's crazy that a talented musician is reduced to begging while others earn millions without an ounce of talent. But that's the world!"
As you say. Today, big mouth and marketing have more weight than talent. And that's true everywhere...
Jérôme: I dream of traveling around the world and getting to know new cultures.
It goes without saying that this is a very good idea, and you will have to keep a logbook so that your readers can benefit from it.
of varied cultural experiences: in the meantime I will share with you some of mine
After having passed through police and customs checks lasting 2 or 3 hours on departure from Cointrin, your chances are not small of finding yourself stuck at a connecting stopover for two or three days due to a surprise strike -We
We had not stayed more than 2 days on the tarmac under a blazing sun with only a bottle of water to share for soup, with no possibility of getting out of this bad situation because we did not have an entry visa for our host country –
Safari in the Masai Mara in Kenya, you will have plenty of time to learn more about the Masai culture, if your minibus has been attacked, you and the other travelers robbed - Clarification however this is not part of the Masai culture -
In a rental car in Rio de Oro, being fined for not respecting a red light - It is true that the nearest one was located only 500km away - We were however well advised to pay a hefty fine to the car rental company, who mockingly informed us on the way back that if we had not paid it we would have found bags of drugs in the trunk.
Taken hostage in the south of North Africa between the Targui and the Malians, will give you the opportunity to learn more about the clash of Saharan cultures: a bribe to the right person will unfortunately shorten the perception of
There remains the isolated dream island in the Pacific, a dream that risks lasting longer than expected: you will learn that the monsoon can be early; the boat that was supposed to pick you up is not a month away.
Israel: the must: something extraordinary to visit every 500 meters: However, the disappearance of your passport in the middle of Yom Kippur will force you to go and explain yourself at a police station and you will also learn that you will have to wait a few days before obtaining an identity document, because your Embassy will no longer respond for a week on the occasion of this Celebration –
I am missing an interesting experience: Being in a guerrilla war in Central Africa must not be bad either - Like you Jérôme, I continue to dream ... but to explore the Valais - Between the Tschaeggaettu pass and the customs of Val Hérens, there are still dream places ...
Ah ah ah, Swx, excellent reminder! We are never as well off as at home. Of course, the trip that the article praises is not to be taken literally. At least that is how I understand it, since it is a translation that I made of Dividend Mantra. By trip, I mean above all freedom in the general sense: free will, financial autonomy, no hierarchical superior… etc. The “traditional” trip can be part of it of course, but as you pointed out, it can also turn into hell. I still hope that not everything in these descriptions is true for you. And of course, happiness is most of the time right next to us, we just have to open our eyes. Add to that the Amigne festival in Vétroz, the Evolène Carnival, the Corpus Christi festival in Savièse, the cheese from the Alpages d’Eison and I could go on and on.
My dream? I dream of never again having to live false joys, disillusionments and that men become less selfish. I dream that my children never have to suffer the consequences of our actions…I dream!
Hello Jérôme Thierry and Jimmy –
My own dreams are closer to yours than those found on glossy brochures…..
It is better not to dream too much about material things, only the spiritual brings true happiness.
I recently listened to a piece by Ravel that completely overwhelmed me with its profound beauty. This kind of joy is impossible to achieve for those who only see their wallet as the key to happiness. Of course, a minimum of means is needed to be able to enjoy life, but money must never become an end in itself or a means of possessing. Besides, believing that we possess anything is an illusion given our status as mortals…
word for word agree
