Depending on your personal situation and investment horizon, you may want to look for an immediate, stable and attractive source of income. This is typically the case for retirees and annuitants, but it can be for anyone who has some money to invest and wants to see tangible results from their investment immediately. Luckily, there are real money-making machines on the market.
To find this inexhaustible source of cash, you need to focus on quality actions which:
- offer above-average dividend yields
- show long-term stability in the payment of distributions
- generate enough profits to ensure future payments
- have lower volatility than the market
As a rentier, we want to ensure that this windfall is not only generous, but above all that it is solid over time and that it allows its beneficiary to sleep soundly.
Bonds can of course be part of the solution. But they are currently not very profitable and in the long term they are sensitive to inflation and interest rates. Shares that have the above qualities are therefore a good alternative. We have selected three of them that are worthy of interest:
- Kimberly-Clark (NYSE:KMB)
- Chevron (NYSE:CVX)
- Consolidated Edison (NYSE:ED)
These three companies currently offer generous dividend yields ranging from $3.7% to $5.4%. Of course, there are significantly more profitable options on the market. However, these three stocks are very solid and there is little doubt that they will be able to continue to ensure the payment of their distributions in the future. Our portfolio gives more details on each of them.
As a bonus, Chevron and Kimberly-Clark have the characteristic of making increase their dividend approximately every year, which is an additional guarantee against the risk of inflation.
Not yet (unfortunately) in the situation of an annuitant, our investment philosophy is based on a longer-term perspective. We therefore prefer to forgo these generous distributions for the time being in favor of average yield but showing a more significant progression. For this reason, we follow these values in our portfolio, without having acquired it. However They are perfect for anyone who needs fresh cash immediately!
