In a world where global warming is not making winter any more bearable, a new virus from China is causing disproportionate waves in financial markets. Between unjustified panic and comparisons with seasonal flu, the collective hysteria is strangely reminiscent of that of H1N1 in 2009.

Sandwiched between the Boomer and Millennial generations, Gen Xers have often been faced with a changing world of work, characterized by unemployment and the advent of the Internet. Despite generational labels, the desire for a different way of life, detached from the professional world and prioritizing quality of life, freedom and autonomy, transcends generations and has been around for much longer than we might think.

Since this fall, my activity on the blog has decreased, but this break has allowed me to take a step back and appreciate the path taken towards financial independence. I am currently working on a new e-book which should be released in the spring, in order to start again with more clarity towards my goals.
