Hi Jerome,
Thank you for these details.
My mistake was trying to buy on a market place not covered by IBKR and had nothing to do with a cash or margin account.
Sorry for not being more present, unfortunately this virus has not helped my workload and has not for months...
Have a nice weekend,
XavierHi,
I certainly wasn't specific and clear enough.
I tried to buy shares with a daily trading volume of only €5k. My short limit order was executed over several days at a rate of a few shares per day. This is reflected in the fees and therefore the PRU of the acquisition.
I applied for the simple margin account (through Portfolio Margin), I don't think it's useful for the amount.
I checked and enabled everything for stocks. We'll see if the margin account helps, otherwise I'll contact their support.

Hi Jerome,
The first is that my data is local and the project is open source!
You can more easily manage purchases/sales in relation to different accounts (or in different currencies) and there is also the possibility of direct import.
If an asset is not listed (or rather listed on Yahoo or elsewhere), you can create it yourself.
There are cryptos and you can also use the site directly https://divvydiary.com/ which allows you to view dividend payment dates. There are also options to sort by sectors, asset classes, countries, etc., to see how your assets are weighted against each other.
I'm still discovering the different functions.
Let me know if you test it and what you think of it compared to FT.

Hi Jerome,
I was able to discover the joys of not paying attention to liquidity and especially execution over several days with the associated costs!
NEVER confuse 5k and 50k average per day…
I also had a surprise with Interactive Brokers, I am unable to buy certain stocks in Norway, Finland, etc.
It seems that this evening linked to the type of account (I have a cash account at the moment), I made a change to a margin account. I will let you know if this had a positive effect.I think I will have one or two questions regarding the margin account, because I believe you have this type of account Jerome and I want to avoid doing stupid things (leverage and borrowing money in other currencies)
Good day,
XavierHi,
Here is the "Portfolio Performance" program that I discovered some time ago to track your portfolio. (see site https://www.portfolio-performance.info/ )
It better matches my expectations of FT, but requires a small investment of time to use.
Good day,
XavierHello everyone,
All my best wishes for this new year 2021.
I hope to have a little more time than in recent months to exchange on the forum and above all to be able to continue learning and building my portfolio.
Yours sincerely,
XavierHi Will,
Your analysis is very interesting.
I am also always looking for additional information regarding the use of a company to invest, whether in stocks or real estate.
The interest is great during the accumulation phase, because taxation is limited. Are you looking for an SA, SARL or other?
Looking forward to reading you,
XavierHello Dividinde,
I wanted to try to contribute to the building of computer security and the risk of hacking.
The major element that allows theft is us, whether through phishing, password complexity or even recurring use of the same account.
If you use two-factor authentication for the entire chain, i.e. your email and account access, combined with different and strong passwords, and the two-factor authentication key saved in a safe place, the risk is low.
Here are two examples of strong passwords.

XavierHello,
Damn I forgot about that part! Sorry for the redundancy of the question, it will come back eventually!

XavierHello,
Yes almost sure with the AUCHAH on PF, I was also surprised that the difference was so big (and I didn't buy for millions 😛 ).
OK with a limit order, but how do you set the price if you place an order outside market hours and to be sure to be executed? I think the order goes through in several days?
Xavier
Hi Jerome,
I come back with a question regarding the type of order to use to buy stocks with low volume.
I tried to buy a fairly liquid ETF (GOLD) and between a market order and a limit order I still had a fairly significant final price difference (order 2-4% unless I'm mistaken).
I am therefore wondering what is the best method for buying shares that are not very liquid (small CAP for a strategy like QVM3 or James O'Shaughnessy). Do you have any feedback on this?
Good day,
XavierPS: Sorry, I haven't had time for the article yet! I hope to get there before the Greek calends...
Hello,
Yes I have already tried with FF, Chrome under Win10 and Linux… it's all the same thing.
We will see when (or if) this will be corrected.
Hello,
So it's definitely a FT bug, I can only create one.
I also noticed another anomaly on FT with the personal screeners and the impossibility of selecting one other than the first to view the content.

XavierHi Jerome,
Well, I must really have a box missing at times!
Your description matches what I understood about how FT works, but I still have problems!
I can't create multiple CASH accounts. If I create an "Invest CHF" account and fund it in CHF and then try to create an "Invest EUR" account that I fund in EUR, under the "Cash" tab I would just have an account name "Invest EUR", all denominated in EURO. It's as if the Invest CHF account had been merged with the new one created. I would specify that my "Portfolio" is referenced in CHF (under setting as you mention).
Just to be sure, we agree that if I create 3 cash accounts (with the procedure you mention, selecting cash->open and giving an account name) I should see the name of the 3 accounts appear under the heading "Cash"->"Name":
Have a nice end of the day,
XavierHi,
@jlevray, it's good I got access. I'll take a look as soon as I have a little more time.@Jérôme, ok I'll do it right away.
Regarding the amounts, you don't have to send everything at once. You do it little by little (SEPA transfer = 1 day) and you withdraw your BTC (24/7 and this takes 1-15 minutes depending on the network load) on a physical wallet (or a piece of paper) and this is as if you have your physical gold at home!
But as jlevray says, the important thing is to have put a foot in it and I think that understanding the technology, the goal and the possible applications is not uninteresting.A+
