Good morning,
From September 1st, IB will charge negative interest on accounts with a CHF balance exceeding 50k.How do you see it? Having kept some cash under my elbow to invest after a probable crash, I don't know what the best solution would be:
- Convert to USD or EUR
- Invest in a solid but over-listed company in Switzerland (ZURN style)
- Investing in a CHF ETF (but which one?)
- Buy gold (via an ETF like CSGLDC)
- Any other ideas?
Thank you for your enlightenment.
“Reasons for changes: Correction of flat-rate tax imputation (DA-1)” Oh yes! Haha, I never understood why.
Indeed, you are right. So I declared incorrectly last year… That said, I don’t think I received a request from the tax authorities.
From what I can read in the bank statement, under the item "Tax Withholdings", it seems to me that there are only the 15% of "US Taxes".
Is it possible that the Swiss withholding taxes are no longer taxed, as IBKR is located in England? And, as a side question, how do I report this, as it seems that on the DA-1 form, the additional Swiss withholding tax is automatically added?
Totally agree with you.
My two cents: a Telegram group is a better idea than an obsolete chat.
I advise you to buy calls on SPXU to hedge your US portfolio. It is a very aggressive strategy but it is a relatively cheap insurance to protect in case of crisis. It helped me a lot during the mini crash last December.
Obviously, if there is no decline by the expiration date of the option, it is money thrown out the window... like all insurance.
Thank you for your quick response.
<p style=" »text-align:" left; »>Along the same lines, on interactive brokers, do you convert your CHF to USD/yen/EUR to avoid interest or do you stay in CHF to minimize exposure to exchange rate risks?</p>Purchase of call options on SPXU and put options on AWR in view of a (big?) correction by September.
THANK YOU !!!
I would have taken a while to get to this result!
It looks like the image import option is not working.
(if it doesn't work, click on this link)
Since the last update of my portfolio on this forum:
HP sold, profit taking 8,74% (27,01% with div)
ZURN sold, profit taking 18,71% (45,75% with div)
TGT sold, profit taking 7.63% (13.01% with div)
ULVR sold, profit taking 29,57% (31,33% with div)
VFC sold, profit taking 23,40% (26,28% with div)
KO sold, profit taken 5.39% (7.15% with div)Purchase of ORON (at CHF 74.45)
Purchase of VBSN (at CHF 202.00)
Buy BRKN (at 125.10)
Purchase of ADM (at $39.61)Since June 2009:
Average annual performance (with dividends) 5.82%
Positions held on average 820 days
Average yield 3.40%NB: The yield only takes into account the dividends received, converted into CHF if necessary, in relation to the purchase price.
I am still cleaning up: selling and collecting cash for a correction that should happen imminently. I am very interested in the Japanese finds indicated on this site (thanks!) but my brokers (postfinance and swissquote) do not allow trading these positions… and cost a lot in fees. I will probably change creameries soon. (But it is complicated, once you have a certain number of lines with someone)
Holy presentation 😶
Absolutely! Plus, I hate that drink.
Yeah, and the big cleanup isn't over yet!
SNH will leave soon. And I hesitate to (already) sell DIS and ULVR before the stock market goes back the other way. What do you think?
PS: How to make "pretty" paintings like it was possible before? Mine are indigestible...
