      Good morning,

The survey and the remarks of our host are very interesting in more than one way. I would also like to contribute and try to bring my vision, interpretation of the results and ideas.

      Your age
Jérôme points this out very well, the 31-45 year olds are unsurprisingly the most represented, but I am not sure that this is only due to the increase in income and thus being able to save and invest better, because it is often around this age that the family grows and that we have more expenses and/or that we reduce our working hours.

      Your business
Also unsurprisingly, I think it would be interesting to know the sectors of activity. I wonder if among the white collars, people working in the financial sector would be represented.

      Provenance
It would be nice to know the distribution of 5% readers from other Swiss cantons, maybe I could find a neighbor!
Perhaps the site should be more focused on this readership, because there is a lot of information for France, but for Switzerland I find that it is quite weak, even in the language spoken beyond the Sarine.

      Your goal
I would just point out that wanting to take early retirement (well before 58) does not necessarily mean no longer working. It may simply mean having financial security and thus being able to free one's creativity or desires and dare to launch a business "without risk and without worries".

      Preferred article types
Diversification is the word that comes to mind! I think everything is interesting and brings a freshness to reading.

      Markets of interest
Opportunities and the overall economy are certainly the main factors that dictate investments perhaps?

      Currencies
Do investors look for opportunities in different markets and therefore this has an influence on the currency used or does the main currency correspond to the geographical area where one wishes to retire :-).

      Broker / bank used
It would be interesting to be able to look at/filter just what our compatriots have as an investment platform.

      Planned retirement age
It is very interesting to see that 50% of people are between 31-45 years old and that we have a heterogeneous distribution of the time horizon, but perhaps the point that I raised before, that is to say to work for pleasure and no longer by obligation is also a goal sought.

      Your loyalty to dividendes.ch
I discovered "dividendes.ch" not so long ago. I have been investing through funds for several years, but it is only recently that I discovered the principle of early retirement and especially that I want to understand and control my investments. I like to have control over what I do and I realized that this was not the case with funds and financial advisors, especially since it is quite difficult to find trustworthy and competent people who master their subject.

      Your satisfaction
Is perfection the ultimate quest? Congratulations in any case for this excellent result!

      Free
I will allow myself to refer to a quote ;).

Collective intelligence allows us to move forward further and faster. I think that mutual aid, knowledge and understanding brought by each person is the key to success and is more beneficial than remaining alone and keeping everything to oneself.

Sharing, whatever it may be, is a form of accomplishment and isn't it part of our quest for financial independence?

      Your comments and suggestions

It won't necessarily be in order and I will try to argue my ideas as best I can.

      FORUM
I agree with Jérôme about the difficulty of running a "confidential" forum; unfortunately, we often feel alone and redundant compared to other forums, and above all, a forum requires time to manage (spam, response, etc.).
But it's always nice to have forums with small communities, as long as they are active.
The idea of a chat is not a bad idea in itself, but it is just adding a module that will suffer from the same problems as the forum in the long run. It would not bring added value, but more management, I think it would be better to create and use a channel on Telegram (which allows you to interface bots, etc.).

Comments in articles are often very interesting and relevant or add significant value to the article.
It might be interesting to no longer allow comments, but to create a topic directly in the forum per article? The monitoring of discussions would gain in readability and encourage exchanges? Personally I know that I would respond more easily in the forum than in the comments.

      Diary
Everyone takes this path as they see fit, but I think it's important to find people who listen and who have the same vision/goal. I feel like many people don't understand the process of early retirement or have trouble conceptualizing it. When I brought it up, I got the response that WORK = SALARY and it's the only way to have/earn enough to live.

      Paid subscription
I did not know this period and as already mentioned and lived by some of my passions, either you want to live from it, or you do it by passion and you accept not to gain anything from a pecuniary level. The gain is at another level…
I find that if there are some non-invasive ads that allow you to pay for hosting and the domain, it is completely understandable.

      Markets / analysis
You must always enjoy analyzing values and not just creating articles to get ratings. Could the quality be affected?

      Various suggestions
Regarding training, workshops, courses, I think they already exist through the various articles. It is a reading work that often requires rereading to understand everything. We cannot just read and apply the points one after the other to "easily win" in investment. Your articles (completed by personal readings and research) allow us to create an investor profile and I find this very good. We are responsible and we must understand what we are doing.

I would add that sharing files, for example trading journal, wealth tracking, budget tracking, etc., would also be an idea. I am sure that we have all reinvented the wheel to make some of these small tools. But we could save time, bring more ideas by sharing our ideas, thoughts and experiences.

Video content is an idea, but I like the format of articles, it's easier to reread certain points, without having to play with a cursor to find the right passage.
But maybe some regular "lives" with a topic presented (by different members) for 10-15 minutes and then equal time for Q&A and reflections.
This goes back to the idea of the community glass, anonymity is a pretext often put forward, but meeting and discussing with people who have the same ideas, but with different lives, backgrounds and horizons is I think very enriching.
We must not rush things and take it step by step.

Regarding anonymity, it might be interesting to have a private part (not visible to non-registered people, or to define under what conditions registered people will have access) to be able to exchange more freely?

I may just be pointing out the remark about the demographics of readers' income or by extrapolation of savings, investment in furniture or real estate. I don't think it's very relevant and I would be afraid that some people would feel devalued, especially on misunderstandings (e.g. if we compare a Swiss salary to another, but without mentioning health insurance, taxes, rent, cost of living in general).
But I reiterate my remark in order to know where the readings come from geographically, their training, current positions, hobbies, family situation, etc. This is also to perhaps energize the site/forum and above all there is always something to take or learn from the experiences of other people especially if we have similar objectives, but with other points of view.

That's it for this first draft. I hope it hasn't been too long, but I think it's starting to become my trademark to write novels (with lots of spelling mistakes! I apologize for that by the way)

Looking forward to reading other reactions,
      Xavier

        to bounce back:

        – markets/analyses: no worries about quality, it’s not because I analyze a stock that it’s necessarily a buy recommendation. It can even be an example not to follow (like the recent GM analysis) or a sell recommendation

        – forum: do not allow comments on articles and divert the discussion to the forum: no, we must leave this possibility which is appreciated. On the other hand, let’s see if I can possibly automate a republication of articles in a part of the forum…

My two cents: a Telegram group is a better idea than an obsolete chat.

            Telegram, chat, forum…

The medium doesn't matter. I'm not going to open a thousand lanes if the only road in service isn't already saturated. Quite the opposite.
