Disclaimer: It is not impossible that some words in this presentation seem strange to you, like "ce matkuasd". It is neither dyslexia nor grammatical laziness, but simply a cat who loves keyboards. I do my best but he is stubborn.
Otherwise, Hello!
It was about time (little ship) that I registered and introduced myself here. I have been drinking, gently but surely, the articles and thoughts of this site for months and months. So to each lord, all honor: Bravo to you for the site and its content.
Who am I?
A humble frouze (yes, yes it exists) expatriated to the land of purple cows, REAL Gruyère and respected pedestrian crossings! I work in IT and am passionate about photography and more precisely street photography. I try my hand at portraits in natural light and would like to be able to make photo montages like Adrien Sommeling, but it's not a given (let your eye wander here) http://www.adriansommeling.com/ (assuming you only have one eye (here's a parenthesis within a parenthesis, hmmm that's a bit much, especially since I mustn't make a mistake when closing them)))
You can take a second look at my humble amateur work here (42streetphoto.fr)But hey, all that is good, but we have to think about serious things and since charity begins with me, I want to follow in your footsteps and manage my investments myself.
So I'm going to use and abuse your advice in the crazy hope that one day I'll have enough knowledge myself to be able to give one or two not-too-stupid pieces of advice to a newbie who's even less knowledgeable than me (Santa Claus does exist, so why not!)
Looking forward to hearing from you.

14 August 2015 at 21:19 #17190Good evening Djoff,
If you are in your forties, have never invested in the stock market and therefore avoided the huge mistakes that all beginners make, but you soak up, as you say, everything you can read on Jérôme's site, I can assure you that it is a huge stroke of luck to have discovered it and to start in this way. I would like to summarize all my experiences since the first so-called confidential stock market letter that I read at the age of 14 that my father received, a member of an investment club who did not read it and that I read in my teenage bedroom, but it would be too long. It is better to have a strong stomach than a big brain to invest in the stock market. Do you have the skills or do you want to learn to analyze company balance sheets or not? For me, even if your answer is negative, there is a way to make your money prosper in the stock market, contrary to what some people may think.17 August 2015 at 01:07 #17196Artist, artist is a big word, but I do my best.
Indeed, I am working on understanding company balance sheets. It's stupid, it's the part of the lessons that I didn't really listen to :-). I'll try to find the lessons again...
The money I want to invest is money that "I don't need" so to speak. So I'm not too afraid of making mistakes, but I would rather avoid too many disappointments. That's kind of why I'm here, so if you have any advice for analyzing balance sheets, I'm all ears.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
