    Hello everyone!

It’s not easy to introduce yourself in a few words…

2012 is a big year for me: birth of my daughter Morgane, construction of my house in neighboring France (I always lived in French-speaking Switzerland before) and… beginning of my investments in the stock market. I could of course talk to you at length about the first two events, but I imagine that it is the third that interests you; so I will concentrate on this one. 😛

Like all of you, I aspire to greater financial independence. So each month I invest the little nest egg I have left in stocks that seem worthwhile to me. Finding it fun to scrutinize the market, I enjoy choosing my "stock of the month". Being risk averse, I bet almost exclusively on defensive stocks.

I do not balance my portfolio according to sectors of activity, on the other hand I intend to try to diversify geographical origins as much as possible. And it is on this point that I partially disagree with the selection of the site: for me there are far too many US stocks and I am wary of what this could lead to the day Uncle Sam is caught up with his debt...

Finally, to finish by contributing (perhaps) to your list "Ex-US International ETFs and Dividend Stocks", I give you the name of one of my favorites: Novo Nordisk. 😳

    See you soon!

Just to add a piece of information that I had not specified: in my stock selection criteria, it is also important that the companies I choose have a minimum of ethics. Because I hope to get rich thanks to my investments, but I would not want it to be thanks to slavery, corruption or other insanity of the kind...

Hello Astyx and welcome to the forum

we have a lot in common between family life, risk aversion, search for financial independence….

It is true that I am very US-oriented, but it is for want of anything better... from the point of view of increasing dividends they are far ahead of other countries. And then, although US, the companies have a profoundly international scope and are therefore not too affected by the American budgetary turmoil.

I am already Novo Nordisk in the Global Dividend Growers, but thanks for the advice, I'm still interested.

Ooops. I hadn't looked that way for a Danish company. 😛 And I admit I (very) rarely look at the bottom of your US list.

        No problem ;-)

It's true that it's a nice value. It's just a bit volatile for my taste.
