Hi Jerome,
Everywhere we read that the stock market will collapse, if Trump is elected, if Hillary is elected too, because of the US debt, because of the federal banks which have hidden the shit under the carpet for decades, etc.
What do you think about all this?
If I look at your income here: http://www.dividendes.ch/revenus/
I don't see the 2008 crisis period. What was the effect of the crisis on your portfolio at that time?
Hi
Clinton or Trump are certainly not brilliant, but their influence on the market should not be overestimated.
On the other hand, it is true, and I have been saying it for a long time, that the stock market is overvalued: http://www.dividendes.ch/evaluation-du-marche/
This is also why I started the Trading Auto Signal.
As for your question, I only started this dividend portfolio in 2010, so I don't have any examples to show you for years like 2000-2003 or 2008-2009.
On the other hand, if I adopted this strategy of increasing dividends, it is precisely because I experienced these two periods as an investor. And I even experienced them badly, like many others.
Dividend-growing stocks are known to hold up well in bear markets. The following articles will give you examples and explanations:
Hi Lemij and Jerome,
Would you advise keeping a liquid portfolio?
Hello
Yes, you should always keep cash.
Anyway, if you apply the principle of saving a part of your income at the moment, you can't buy much. So it goes into cash.
Indeed I was reading Warren Buffet's 2016 letter to his investors, he says:
Every decade or so, dark clouds will fill the economic skies, and they will briefly rain gold.
When downpours of that sort occur, it's imperative that we rush outdoors carrying washtubs, not teaspoons. And that we will do.
I always loved this guy 😉
