Investing to become financially independent
Investing to become financially independent
Good morning,
So there you have it, these strategies on dividends or others are all well and good, but for a novice the problem starts with choosing your bank!
I'll give a current example: Mr Badinvest 06000 has his savings accumulated over 10 years in cash in his Savings account (which he wants to invest quietly if times are good or wait for better days if necessary).
The kind banker from the VERY LARGE Swiss bank explains to him that times are hard and custody fees are increased!
0.35% on cash and 0.6% on precious metal accounts, not to mention transaction fees. The nice banker explains to him that for 1% he can sign a mandate and the nice banker will invest his money according to a Long Short strategy or derivatives (I don't understand everything) in obscure funds that will also take 1.5% and that in the end he will be a winner but nothing is guaranteed, not even 1%. The problem is that Mr. Badinvest likes to understand what is happening and that he is learning to manage and what's more he doesn't trust the nice banker. So Mr. Badinvest will take these pennies to another bank where he can deposit his money and quietly invest in the stock market without being taxed everywhere.
This is where the problem begins: which bank to choose??? It is difficult to compare all the fees: custody, brokerage, etc.
Postal Bank, BCV, Raieffe…….
Online banking but what are Swiss online banks worth? Security for these liquidities before investment?
If you have any advice on this subject for Switzerland, I'm interested.
THANKS.
A+
I recommend this post to you, it covers the subject in detail:

Personally, I recommend PostFinance.
Thank you very much, I'll look at all of that!
Apparently from 2015 swissquote will provide an e-banking platform to postfinance following their association.

This is good news because the swissquote platform is well designed.
